The Senior Director of IT Infrastructure is responsible for all core IT Infrastructure, Networks services to support the PT Solutions Physical Therapy.  Reporting to the CIO, this position is accountable to deliver, manage, and improve the PT Solutions Physical Therapy IT infrastructure, Cloud Hosting Services and Network services across the enterprise in a cost-effective, timely, high quality, and innovative manner to drive practice growth and scalability.  The position plays a pivotal role in shaping IT infrastructure strategy, making investment and priority trade-off decisions, reducing unit costs, and negotiating and managing vendor relationships.  The Sr. Director, IT Infrastructure will have direct oversight for the Engineering, Networking, and System Administration and IT Service Management team members.

 

This position requires an influential, visionary leader with strong management skills, a detailed working knowledge of IT infrastructure, voice/telecommunications, and cloud hosting services and a familiarity with leading IT initiatives. The position has direct accountabilities for all computing infrastructure and networks at PT Solutions but also has healthcare IT knowledge to consult as needed with other technical leaders around hospital technology infrastructure considerations.  The position will leverage both internal and partner resources in the delivery of cost- effective solutions to business problems and opportunities.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, organize, and lead the management of the IT infrastructure to ensure IT systems are available across the organization in accordance with agreed-upon service levels
  • Manage the delivery and relationships with third-party providers to ensure they meet/exceed agreed upon service level agreements. Negotiate agreements with vendors and strategic technology partners
  • Identify and recommend strategic direction for cloud services, hosting, storage, system infrastructure, as well as systems/network monitoring and management practices
  • Participate in the formulation of the company's enterprise architecture and business system plans; assessing cost and feasibility, and ensuring the plan is aligned with and supports the strategic goals of the business

  • Develops and controls the IT Infrastructure annual operating and capital expenditure budget and manages expenses to stay within plan

  • Experience with comprehensive disaster recovery architecture and operations running in the Azure cloud, including annual infrastructure testing to validate availability of network connectivity and Recovery Time Objective as well as Recovery Point Objective

  • Provide IT Infrastructure vision, enables innovation and seeks to leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the company’s requirements and expectations

  • Manage the strategic direction of the areas of responsibility including developing a roadmap and managing the technology portfolio

  • Effectively acquire, develop, and manage talent on staff and through third party support engagements to consistently deliver business results and build future IT leadership capability

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and business areas to determine technology needs and priorities necessary to achieve business objectives

  • Provide infrastructure operations best practice guidance, includes analysis of changing business needs and support requirements, engaged with applications and infrastructure group for planning of long term operational support of internal and client systems

  • Oversee server and azure environment, system backup procedures and other recovery processes

  • Lead process development/improvement and efficiency initiatives to continually improve

  • Lead Major Incident Recovery and Resolution initiatives ensuring appropriate and timely escalations and communications to executive management

  • Identify and recommend strategic direction for servers, hosts, and system infrastructure; as well as systems monitoring and management practices

  • Partner with peers in the IT function in the delivery of new business capabilities 

  • Effectively acquire, develop, and manage talent to consistently deliver business results and build future IT leadership capability 

  • Work with senior management and staff to improve processes and provide incremental automation efforts where applicable and valuable

  • Close collaboration with other leaders and team members from Information Security, Service Desk, IT Project Management Offices, Clinical Operations and Administrative Leadership, and Facilities

  • Develop the technology procurement process for purchases of new hardware and software in partnership with the with the Director, Service Management

 

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA, BS or master’s degree in a Computer Science or Information systems related discipline is required; an MBA is desirable
  • 15+ years of equivalent IT leadership experience in a global organization
  • Network architecture and/or solution engineering knowledge of how to manage distributed models, hub and spoke infrastructure for maximized performance
  • Azure Cloud management expertise
  • Strong background in:  
    • Multi-platform hardware and software technologies
    • ITIL standards
    • Network Management
    • Security Management
    • Availability, performance and capacity management
    • Data security, disaster recovery, and contingency planning
  • Strong background in Integration efforts and use of Cloud, PAAS, and IAAS technologies
  • Strong financial acumen and cost management skills
  • Excellent communications, team management, mentoring, and team development skills
  • Ability to develop strong business partnerships
  • Significant experience working with an outsource partners to achieve business outcomes
  • Experience managing large and complex budgets in a collaborative business environment. Strong financial acumen and cost management skills including budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Must be able to work with multiple project teams simultaneously and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Possess strong understanding and design skills in Network configuration, Systems configuration, Database and Application design, Network and Data Security design and configuration, disaster recovery and high availability, and Storage and Virtual environments.
  • Successful experience in managing network, hosting and security teams including 15+ years in a production 24/7 high-availability multi-site enterprise ERP and CRM environment, including application hosting, voice and data networks, security and information protection and 8+ years’ experience with high availability networks and replicated disaster recovery architectures.
  • Working knowledge of: Microsoft Active Directory, O365, SQL servers, Windows servers and clients, Windows OS Upgrades, NAS/SAN Storage, Data networking, Oracle, ERP, Wireless, Enterprise releases, Cloud, Cisco, Security, VMWare.
  • Experience in server virtualization, storage, and disaster recovery design and deployment in a cloud environment Azure preferred.
  • Demonstrated planning skills and a proven ability to lead teams in a multi-project environment
  • Must have experience with business system continuity planning, and risk management in a regulated industry – preferably Healthcare
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
  • Thought leader, articulate, consensus building, and persuasive with a demonstrated ability to serve as an effective member of the senior management team and communicate IT concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly desirable but NOT required – exposure to Healthcare EMR’s such as Epic, Cerner, etc. and/or familiarity with Healthcare IT and Hospital Partnerships
