The purpose of the position is to manage and coordinate a centralized Hospital Reimbursement Specialist team; Ensuring timely month-end closing and complete, accurate, reconciliation of all PTS related revenue impacting responsibilities as outlined in our Customer Agreements. Manage and Support the Reimbursement Specialist Supervisors in ensuring all KPis are met, conducting regular audits to ensure Work Queues are current and Month End Reconciliation is completed timely. Required to possess exceptional organizational, communication, computer, leadership, training, and time management skills.

 

Essential Functions

  • Manager of Reimbursement Specialist Supervisors and/or Reimbursement Specialists
  • Conduct bi-weekly meetings with Reimbursement Specialist leadership and team for metric report-outs and Denial Queue trends that can impact revenue and customer satisfaction
  • Oversee projects as needed to resolve Customer Denial issues, in collaboration with front office leadership
  • Report monthly to RC Sr Manager on KPis and impactful regional trends and Customer concerns
  • Liaison with Customer Representatives
  • Supervises staff performance and developmental training, including ongoing performance, the development of corrective action plans and monitoring for improvement as needed.
  • Train all new Reimbursement Specialist Supervisors on duties and expectations
  • Review and update training material quarterly
  • Ensures monthly statistical reports and duties are completed timely.
  • Reviews all insurance contracts and understands contracted reimbursement rates.
  • Performs additional duties deemed necessary to the position and its function.
  • Submits all timecards bi-weekly for direct reports.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to type 60 words per minute preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral (includes telephone skills) and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and an ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Complete understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology.
  • Ability to work with disabled individuals.
  • Working knowledge of all standard office equipment.
  • Working Knowledge of insurance and billing procedures.

Required Credentials

  • High School Diploma with courses in bookkeeping and accounting OR an equivalent amount of work experience in a healthcare or related setting.
  • One to two years of medical billing and administrative experience.
  • One year of supervisor experience.
